Regards, Eric. As Manasa P stated in her response, this is obviously an issue with the display adapter driver. I would try visiting your computer manufacturer's website to look for the appropriate driver. After locating the correct drivers, I would uninstall your display adapter and reinstall it instead of trying to update it.
There are instructions for installing a driver here. I have my system check and update via Windows every time I log on. Followed your advice and for about a week my desktop was fine and then it started again. Do you have a suggeted solution so that everytime my PC has started the desktop icons are where I place them? Yes via the Properties under Devices and Printers the screen resolution is: x recommended.
Via the forum blogs, I downloaded Power Suite and after four shutdown and starts since then the icons are still where I put them so the problem might be fixed. Version: File Size: Eric P H. How can I stop my monitor settings from changing at shutdown? This thread is locked. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread. In reply to Imran Chand's post on June 26, Greetings Manasa P. Thank you for your reply. It started after my last monitor was replaced earlier this year. Followed your suggestion to update the driver but the latest version is installed.
It has been four days since my reply and I once again thank you for it. Last edited: Jul 31, DocStone , Jul 31, There is no custom timing option for Vista yet.
Supposedly this is going to be updated in a future driver release. I'm running the Also, still no widescreen scaling with fixed aspect ratio and no "do not scale" options for the 8 series. Gotta love those games that don't support widescreen all stretched out and ugly on my 22" LCD!
