Does this mean that you are unable to record programmes straight 'out of the box'? Many thanks. File transfer by MikeR. Can the hard drive be accessed over a network to 'permanently' transfer files onto the device so that I don't have to have my PC on the stream media?

Disconnect the USB cable. Attach the AV cables to the TV. Turn on the device. This player needs a hard drive in order to work have you physically installed a hard drive? I don't see how he could have formatted with FAT32 if a drive wasn't installed!

Hello, I ran into a similar problem, and hope someone can help. When I hook up the player to my computer via usb, it shows all folders and all files in the folders about 20 folders. But when I connect the player to my TV, it does not show all folders, only 5. I have reformatted the player NTFS , and have transferred back all the files from my external HD, with the same results.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. I had this solved. I used a software called format Hi there, I have a similar problem. Thought it was because I was using a Mac but apparently not. But is it that much cheaper than Sky Q? Thanks to its powerful boxes offering responsive interfaces where other similar competition slows to a crawl, Manhattan has made a name for itself in the set-top box space. It lets you whizz around the Freeview Play interface, with a simple to understand UI making it pretty much foolproof.

It also has a function that lets you build your own 'Personal Watchlist' for on-demand content, so you can keep track of shows you're interested, no matter what channel or catch-up platform they originate from. As quiet as it is speedy, the box makes p content look sharp, but comes into its own when you have a 4K HDR TV, as both picture technologies are supported.

It's limited to the YouTube app to deliver HDR content at the moment, but it is future proofed at least for when the terrestrial TV providers start offering the content. Where it loses marks is on its recording controls only two channels can be recorded at once and it's lack of Netflix or Amazon Prime subscription streaming apps.

Is the Freeview signal weak in your area? This uses a satellite dish instead of a standard antenna to receive the TV signal, which means it's the best set-top box for patchy signals. You just have to decide how much you want to store. Want to keep the entire World Cup for posterity, including all the pre-match prattle?
